Walton-on-Thames.. is located just over 15 miles south west of London, on the south banks of the River Thames.
The original village of Old Walton lies to the north of the town centre, while the majority of the later development took place to the south. In 2007 the town centre was redeveloped with “The Heart” shopping mall which also included a new, library, supermarket and a range of well-known restaurant chains plus 279 executive apartments, some with views over one of two prestigious private estates in the town.
Walton-on-Thames railway station is served by South West Trains with fast, direct services into London Waterloo in just 26 minutes. Heathrow airport is just 9 miles away and both the M25 and A3 within a short drive making it the perfect town from which to commute in any direction. Regular bus services run by Surrey County Council go to nearby towns such as Weybridge, Shepperton, Hersham, Molesey, Hampton Court Palace and Kingston-upon-Thames, adding to the towns popularity and meeting the needs of young families and the older generations alike.
The River itself also offers extensive opportunities for water-based sports, including rowing, canoeing, kayaking, skiffing, punting and sailing. The long awaited opening of Walton Bridge in July 2013 is the latest Thames river crossing, linking the town with Shepperton to the North. There is also an abundance of sporting venues and places of interest in the area including the Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Centre, and a number of riverside pubs all within walking distance from the town.
After studying building construction, Elliott began his estate agency career after a chance conversation with an old school friend in late 1995. The dot.com boom lured him away for a brief two years spell into IT recruitment, only to return to the industry in 2001 after realising the grass isn’t always greener!
Elliott joined AM in Weybridge in 2008 after 11 years working in the Woking property market for a couple of independent estate agents. He reopened the Walton on Thames branch in 2010 as Sales Manager after its impressive remodelling.
“Walton is still relatively unknown when compared to the likes Weybridge and Kingston, and yet the town boasts the River Thames, a great modern shopping centre, trains to London Waterloo in under 30 minutes and an excellent leisure centre, so what’s not to like about working here? It’s a vibrant small town with great facilities and we are always inundated with buyers moving out of London, looking for their first family home.”
In his own time, Elliott likes to get out of town with his wife and son and soak up the country air, either walking or mountain biking.
